Before You Cancel

Before you decide to cancel your Frontpoint security service, it is important to make sure that you understand the terms of your contract. Each contract is different and may include different fees and cancellation policies. Take some time to review your contract to make sure you understand any cancellation fees that may be charged.

How Long Are Frontpoint Contracts?

Frontpoint used to only have multi-year contracts, but to remain competitive they now also offer a month-to-month option. That means your upfront costs will be higher, but you won’t be tied into a contract. They also have a 3-year contract that you can sign up for that will include a lot of the equipment covered (paid for) up front.

Where Can I Find My Contract?

To access your contract directly in your Frontpoint portal, login and visit the document section. You can also view your contract directly within the Frontpoint app. Simply navigate to Menu (top left) > My Account > “Home” icon at bottom of screen > Documents. The contract is the first item on this page, tap “download” to view and retrieve it. If you don’t see your contract, make sure you’re logged in as the primary user.

Are You Moving?

If you’re simply moving you don’t need to cancel to reinstall your system at the new location. Just login to your Frontpoint account and visit the move portal. Then:

  1. Click on Start Move
  2. Under New Residence Information, fill out the new address and the move date.  This should be the date that the system itself is getting moved.
  3. Under Mover’s Kit Delivery, fill out the address to the kit sent to and the date it should be delivered.
  4. Click on Complete

On moving day, with the system disarmed, power down the Control Panel and dismount all the sensors.  If you need any help with setting up your system at the new address be sure to call Frontpoint or check out the setup guides.

How to Cancel Frontpoint’s Services

There are two main ways to cancel your Frontpoint security service:

1. Call Frontpoint Customer Service

The quickest and easiest way to cancel your service is to call Frontpoint customer service at 1-855-868-5076, then select menu option #6, anytime between 8am and 7pm ET, Monday through Friday. When you call, you will be asked to provide your account information and to answer a few security questions. Once your account has been verified, you will be connected with a customer service representative who can help you with the cancellation process.

2. Submit A Frontpoint Cancellation Request Online

If you don’t want to call Frontpoint customer service, you can also submit a cancellation request online. To do this, you will need to log in to your account on the MyFrontpoint customer portal and select the “Cancel Service” option from the menu. You will then be asked to provide your account information and answer a few security questions. Once your account has been verified, you will be able to select the “Submit Cancellation Request” option to officially cancel your service.

Before You Leave

Once you have officially canceled your service, there are a few things you need to do before you leave.

1. Return Your Equipment

If you have any Frontpoint equipment that is still in your possession, it must be returned to the company. To do this, you should pack up all of your equipment and ship it to:

  • Frontpoint Security Solutions
    3010 Nutley Street
    Fairfax, VA 22031

2. Pay Any Remaining Fees

If you are subject to any cancellation fees, you will need to pay them before your cancellation can be processed. You can make payment either online, by mail, or by phone.

3. Change Your Alarm Codes

Once your service is canceled, it is important to change the alarm codes on all of your Frontpoint equipment. This will ensure that no one else can access your system.

Canceling your Frontpoint security service is not an easy process, but it can be done with the right information and steps. Make sure that you understand the terms of your contract and any cancellation fees before you decide to cancel. Then, call customer service or submit a cancellation request online, return all of your equipment, pay any remaining fees, and change your alarm codes before you leave. Following these steps will ensure that the cancellation process goes smoothly.
