Positive Nest Outdoor Reviews

We had been waiting for an outdoor version of a Nest camera for some time and were not disappointed. Easy setup with excellent video. The apps and other software behind it out perform that of competing cameras we have purchased. The only bother we encountered came in switching the camera from one wifi network to another – a few too many steps. – MCHTally, Best Buy 9/21/2017

Great…Great…Great. I have two of these and they are the best outside camera out there. Easy to set up and a free 30 day trial on video but is free live all the time – Hawthorn 3/3/2017, Target

Complaints

If you think you are going to have live surveillance without purchasing the monthly surveillance plan, then think again. What you actually get is a snap shot of some activity that gives you very little information. For instance, you will get a snapshot of a car that enters the activity zone but it will NOT provide any other activity that happens after the initial snapshot. You won’t know if someone exited the car and/or breached your zone without purchasing a plan. – ConnieB, Best Buy 1/2/2017

This is my 3rd Nest product; I also have the Nest thermostat and Nest protect. Based on those products, I bought the outdoor cam. Be aware that some of the features of the camera are not available unless you subscribe to the Nest surveillance plan (e.g. activity zones, activity notifications). That’s pretty annoying considering how much the camera costs. Also be sure to check your WiFi signal. Half of the install time was spent checking the signal. First we had to move the modem and the router. Then the location of the camera was dictated by the ability of the camera to get a signal. – Wimpy lashes, Target 3/20/2017
