Features
Basecamp has a good set of project management features, but its functionality is limited if you want to do more. That’s where Teamwork Projects fills in the gaps.
What does Teamwork have that Basecamp doesn’t?
Recurring tasks, Gantt charts, and reporting features to track employee contribution, deadlines, productivity, time spent per project, just to name a few. You get the idea – Basecamp is all about simplicity, whereas Teamwork’s interface might be more complex but in turn you get a more robust feature set.
In addition, Teamwork added Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Spaces.

Integrations
Both Basecamp and Teamwork Projects offer hundreds of integrations via Zapier, a service that is known for its integration and automation capabilities. You can connect with Dropbox, Google Drive, QuickBooks, Slack and more — virtually all of the communications, marketing and business apps you’ll need. Unlike Basecamp, Teamwork also offers direct integration with 30+ apps including Dropbox, Google Drive, FreshBooks, QuickBooks and HubSpot.
When it comes to Developer API, Teamwork has the edge over Basecamp, which doesn’t have its own API center. Teamwork’s Developer API Center is excellent with plenty of resources, including webhooks, code samples, FAQs and tutorials. The only downside with Teamwork is that their intermediate packages don’t include integrations, meaning you’ll have to pay more.

User Friendliness
Basecamp’s straightforward approach is simple to use, and team members should have no problem mastering it quickly. It’s easy to organize your projects with to-do lists and tasks and to assign multiple-step tasks to team members. We Rock Your Web uses Basecamp every day, and we’re big fans.
Teamwork isn’t quite as intuitive and easy-to-use as Basecamp. Because Teamwork is so loaded with features, it can be difficult to remember where all the settings reside. And it’s not very user-driven, so your team members may incur a bit of a learning curve to get accustomed to this tool.

Customer Service
Teamwork is accessible by phone and email ticket 24/7. Basecamp doesn’t offer phone customer support, and their email ticket system, while quick to respond, is only available from 8 am until 6:30 pm CST Mondays through Fridays. Both Teamwork and Basecamp have excellent online resources, including learning centers, blogs, webinars and more.
