Compare All Software |
Tired of sending the intern to the warehouse to count your inventory and then sending another person to check their work? Perhaps they love counting, but chances are they’d rather spend their time doing other things and you’d rather pay them for more meaningful work.
We bet you’d also rather have a more reliable technology solution. That’s where inventory management software comes in. Stop with all the counting! Count your inventory one time and then let the software do the rest of the work.
Article Overview
What Is Inventory Management Software?
Inventory management software tracks inventory levels, orders, sales and deliveries. It can also be used to create work orders, bill of materials and other related documents. It helps organize and optimize a company’s inventory data to avoid product overstock and outages. It also saves companies from the hard copy forms or spreadsheets that could be difficult to search through and maintain, especially with multiple users updating data throughout the day, week and year.
Don’t think warehouse and inventory management is relevant today? According to Bloomberg, the real reason behind economic growth last year was an increase in inventory: In the fourth quarter of 2021, the jump in inventories equaled 4.9 percentage points of the 6.9% annualized rate of growth. Without the inventory-building, the economy grew at only a 2.0% annual rate. We’d bet that some of those corporations are in need of inventory tracking software!

Winner: Fishbowl Inventory Review
Fishbowl Inventory was founded in 2001 and is a nice for small to midsize businesses. It integrates with many big name companies like FedEx, Amazon, eBay, Shopify, UPS, Salesforce and more. They have many features, which they update constantly. Overall they have excellent customer service reviews. With their sturdy reputation and excellent set of features, Fishbowl Inventory made their way to the top quickly. The only thing we really have to complain about is the price tag but, as with all things in life, you often get what you pay for.

Runner-Up: Ordoro Review
If you need a program to handle all your shipping and inventory needs, Ordoro may be a good solution for you. Ordoro is perfect at tracking inventory and it handles returns and partial orders as well. It integrates with many big name companies and has a variety of plans available. The downside is that if you have a brick and mortar retail location, this is not an option — it’s only available for e-commerce.

3rd Place: Stitch Labs Review
Although Stitch Labs is a fairly young company (launched in 2011) it has quickly become a contender in the inventory management world. Stitch does have some limitations for companies located outside of the United States. Also, refunds must be manually updated, which can result in errors. However, it does work well in other aspects so we feel comfortable recommending it for U.S. based companies.

More Choices For Inventory Management Software
These didn’t make the top of our list but are still worth considering.
Dear Inventory Review
Dear Inventory looks like a quality inventory management solution on paper. They’ve got tons of features you may want and, with no software installation required, you can access your account from anywhere you have internet access. However, finding customer feedback was a struggle for us which ultimately kept them out of the top 3 this year. If you have experience with this product, please leave a comment below to help inform our future reviews.

Finale Inventory Review
Finale Inventory has all of the key features you’re looking for in an inventory management system. They integrate with many sites and offer other items besides inventory management. So why aren’t they in our top 3? We just couldn’t find enough information about them to understand how they stack up. We need to hear more from customers before we can consider them in our rankings.

iMagic Review
iMagic has many features to track your inventory count. They have been in business awhile but still don’t integrate with QuickBooks and have no multi-language capabilities. iMagic is only available on Windows. So, if you have a smaller company that only needs one language and you only use Windows machines you’ll be set with iMagic.

inFlow Review
inFlow works well at managing a brick and mortar store or a group of retail stores. They have reliable customer support and offer multiple languages and currency options. So, this might be a good fit for companies who work on a global scale. A unique feature is that you can attach photos and notes to products in your database so you can distinguish them more easily (in case you need a visual or a note to distinguish between two products).

NetSuite ERP Review
Unfortunately, NetSuite ERP was a hard one for us to review. Their site isn’t as transparent as other companies in this category and we couldn’t even find pricing information. We’d love to include more about them in our review so if you have had experience with NetSuite, please let us know in the comment section below.
Selleractive Review
SellerActive is another company that we found little information about online. Their site is clear about what they offer but when it comes to researching customer feedback we came up short. We did find one review that was quite negative, which is why they aren’t in our top 3. If you’ve worked with SellerActive, leave a comment below with the good, the bad and the ugly.

Skubana Review
When you sign up for Skubana you get multi channel inventory management, shipping label creation, purchase order creation, analytics, fba workflow creation and live support. However, this doesn’t come at a cheap price. Skubana’s starting price was previously $999/month making it one of the most expensive inventory management software in this article, but you now have to request a quote. But, if you’re looking for more of an all in one solution, Skubana is a good choice.

Quickbooks Commerce Review
Quickbooks Commerce (formerly known as TradeGecko) was founded in 2012 (and acquired by Intuit in 2020) making it one of the youngest companies in this article. However, they’ve quickly made an impact in this space. This Singapore-based company knows how to manage your inventory effectively. Quickbooks Commerce has a number of support options, but the response time may not be ideal due to the vast time difference between Europe and the U.S. Customers love Trade Gecko’s analytical capabilities and how easy it is to use.
They also offer a B2B e-commerce Platform and customized storefronts, letting you set prices, deals, and branding effortlessly. Quickbooks Commerce for Sales on iOS is absolutely free for Quickbooks Commerce users. A must-have tool for you and your sales team when at a trade show, meeting a customer, and selling wholesale.
