Positive Reviews

GR is feature heavy, with a great interface (with one exception–see below). I’ve had accounts with Aweber, MailChimp, and Constant Contact, and GR offers me by far the best platform at the lowest cost. I can’t imagine switching. The templates are good-looking, the statistics are useful–I just love everything about GR. – Mary C.W., G2 Crowd 12/16/2016

Not all autoresponders are definitely created equal. And GetResponse stands out exceptionally! It is very easy to use and even if you have problems, the live chat is right there at your service. The customer support and service is very polite and helpful as well. Also support is located directly in Canada and they have a good reputation. There are many other great features as well besides the autoresponder, like capture page builders and other services. A great price for a great service/product! – Robert O., Site Jabber 11/5/2016

Negative Reviews

So I signed my small business up for their free trial and quickly learned that my existing database was slightly larger than the trial version would accommodate. I called their customer support number and was told to use the system with my full database would require I sign up to try it or just input part of my database and not all of it for the free trial version. I had a lot of questions about different things I needed the system, to do for me that couldn’t be answered without trailing it. t thought this would be the program I wanted to use long term so I went ahead and signed up for the 1 month program without a long term contract I thought I could quickly assess the program and make sure it was the right fit for my business. I immediately got on a training call to learn more about the back end. I can create an email and have used automation before and their system seemed to provide GREAT tools for that. What I needed was the ability to also connect the emails to my website… – Kathy K., G2 Crowd 11/21/2016

I was using constant contact as our email marketing solution for years but it was becoming too expensive. I tried out Getresponse and what I didn’t like was the lack of customizable options compared to constant contact. If you need to really change the look of your email, then I do not think this is the best option. What I did like about GetResponse was that had inbox preview. You can see what the email will look like using different emails like Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, etc. Price is good if you have a very high volume. For us we went back to constant contact. – Kevin K., Site Jabber 10/22/2013

Is GetResponse the Email Marketing Service For You?

Visit GetResponse’s Website

There’s no question that email marketing can be effective when done right. A report by MarketingSherpa found that companies report a 94% ROI by sending more than 100,000 emails per month. What’s more, companies sending less than 100,000 emails per month report a 139% ROI. Deciding on which email marketing service to use can be difficult because of the sheer number of companies available. When it comes to getting the most bang for your buck, GetResponse is certainly one of the better services. Pricing for all of the services offered by GetResponse is competitive, and compared to the service options offered, GetResponse comes in ahead of the competition on every feature. Even for a small business or website owner looking to keep in touch with email subscribers, the services included in GetResponse’s email marketing packages gives you the advantage of increased profitability. Check out our Email Marketing Comparison Review and see how GetResponse compares to the competition.

Hi I have been trying many autoresponders but it seems like I keep on bumping into getresponse maybe it is a sign that i should join as a free member. It is actually the first time that I see any member offer a discount on membership. It is a great way to make it more affordable to join. Thanks for a great post. Beatris

I just finished one month with GetResponse and all I can say is run from this company. My experience was one of the worst I’ve ever had with an online service. Here is why: – The interface is confusing and buggy. – The newsletter editor was extremely hard to use and I lost templates I worked on for hours. – Unexplained bounce rates of 25+% (my email list was double opt-in, collecting in the last 60 days) – My newsletters didn’t look like the test messages. – Messages were delivered 24 hours late. – 5,000 of my clients were unexpectedly… Read more »

Very disappointed by their payment policy. About me: I’m an Internet marketer with over 3 years experience. In my practice I have used over 10 different email services and over 500k emails sent per month for small businesses. Problem: GetResponse seems to be the most shady Internet service in terms of payments. In 2014 I have paid for 1 year of using GetReponse, which should have expired on 2015-08-14. As I haven’t used it so much, I decided to cancel the subscription few months in advance, so contacted their support and asked to remove my card. Support has replied: “You… Read more »

I just tried out Get Response for a month. There helpdesk service is great. Always ready to explain how to use there service. Waiting line is almost non-existent. I created a campaign and follow-up html with their HTML creator, which is also great. I added 20+ contacts that asked me for information plus some seed addresses to check it out: “a minus is that you cannot personalize their “confirmation message” with predefined fields as [[name]] for expl.” * In all, 4 seed addresses by Hotmail landed the confirmation message in the spam folder. * So I changed the “from field”… Read more »

Guess what…. 2 years after your post and Hotmail delivery is still an ongoing issue.
I’m amazed to find your post when searching for others with the same issue.
Constantly being given excuse after excuse from them too and it never gets any better.

Hotmail (and Yahoo) spam issue is still going on. I contacted them today and waiting to see their reply. But I’m not hopeful after I searched on the web about this problem and saw how their support service is always “working on the issue” for years.

I just signed up for GetResponse trial account. I am trying to “create” several different “lists” into which I can group my contacts; but GetResponse seems to be focused on “campaigns”, and not “email lists”. This is hopeless compared to ConstantContact (which I have been using for a while now, and which I need to dump).

The free 30 day trial allows only for 250 subscribers. I think i was looking for too much.

On the other hand, it was pretty confusing to add custom fields so i blame that on the interface a bit. And finally I don’t understand the terminology of assigning my login name as a campaign – I think i’ll go back to mailchimp and pay for it!!!

I was attracted to GetResponse with the possibility of using iStock images in my mailings and plus the attachment feature.

Overall i think i like mailchimp’s interface better
