Best Email Lead Generation Software
In this article, we review products designed to capture emails, a crucial element in lead generation. We haven’t included major lead generation software here, because we wanted to narrow down our focus.
Winner: OptinMonster Review
OptinMonster takes our top spot for its powerful conversion rate optimization tools that are incredibly easy to use — and extremely competitive pricing. Another huge plus? This software integrates easily with all the major email marketing service providers (EMSPs), content management systems (CMS), and ecommerce platforms.
OptinMonster gives you a variety of opt-in form types, smart triggers and advanced targeting by geo-location, on-site drip campaigns triggered by visitor interactions, adblock detection and much more. You also get an exit intent trigger to catch your visitors before they leave your site.

Runner-Up: Thrive Leads Review
Thrive Leads is a powerful lead capture WordPress (WP) plugin that offers most of the advanced features you’ll need. One of its biggest selling points is that it’s a one-time fee for life. New users may find the editing tools and user interface a bit complicated to navigate, mainly because of the volume of what you can do with Thrive Leads.
Thrive Leads also stands out for its analytics — you can generate 9 different reports analyzing everything from where your leads are coming from to tracking opt-in performance over specific times. Its advanced A/B split testing allows you to test different types of forms against each other.

3rd Place: Bloom Review
WordPress plugin Bloom by Elegant Themes stands out for its endless built-in customization capabilities. You get more than 100 beautifully-design templates that will give your opt-in forms an engaging presence on your site.
If you already own a developer license for Elegant Themes (a top provider of WP themes), you can access this plugin for free. Otherwise, the cost is $89 per year. This gives you access to all 87 of their WP themes and 2 other plugins. If you’re managing multiple websites, this price is hard to beat.

Honorable Mention: Sumo Review
Sumo (formerly SumoMe) is ideal for startups, small businesses and blogs with a limited budget. In fact, Sumo provides a suite of 15+ high-quality apps that are entirely free — and that you can use on any CMS platform. They also offer a premium version if you want more functionality, VIP support and integrations (and to get rid of the Sumo branding).

What About Leadpages And OptiMonk?
While these two email lead generation tools didn’t make our top three this year, they may offer unique features that suit your business needs better than those of our winners, so we encourage you to check them out.
LeadPages | OptiMonk
LeadPages Review
LeadPages differs from other software we’ve reviewed here. Technically it’s a landing page creator, but LeadPages also allows you to create opt-in and other types of popups to sign on new subscribers and drive conversions. LeadPages is a top-rated, industry-leading software.
The Standard plan, however, lacks features and functionality, so you’ll need to upgrade to get A/B testing, popup forms, advanced integrations, live chat support and more. At $48 per month (annual price), the Pro plan is a competitive price, especially for getting unlimited websites and traffic. LeadPages offers a 14-day free trial, so give them a try.

OptiMonk Review
OptiMonk’s standout features are its excellent tech support and integrations. Other than that, OptiMonk falls short compared to our top picks. Although it has a good variety of pop-ups and opt-in form types, customization is limited (unless you use custom CSS).
This software also doesn’t provide as many triggers as other software (but it does have exit intent technology). On top of these limitations, OptiMonk is way too expensive for what you get. However, they do offer some great tools for ecommerce and integrate with Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento and PrestaShop. You can try out OptiMonk with their 14-day free trial.
