What is Rue La La?

If you watch MTV’s The City, you probably saw the episode where they start selling Whitney Eve’s clothing line on Rue La La. It’s basically a site, similar to the “quickly growing in popularity” site Groupon, that lets users buy a product in the fashion/home industries for private sale prices.

It’s a profitable business model for vendors because they can sell tons of their product at once, thereby enabling them to profit from higher volumes and smaller margins.

Rue La La Invitation

Since Rue La La operates by “invitation only” (a kind of viral marketing tactic that, when offered to everyone, spreads quite rapidly), you need to use a specific link to gain access to the site, where you’ll be able to create an account and start purchasing fashion and home industry products on a daily basis at deeply discounted prices.

My wife just got some nice Birkenstock sandals. I could have gotten some too, but missed out. That’s why I ended up joining and that’s how this article came to fruition in the first place.

Laurel, sorry to hear you are having issues, we just tested with both Chrome and Firefox and the links above seem to work for us, maybe try again on a different browser?

Rue La La is still the best “discount” invitation service IMO. While there are some vendors on there now that sell stuff “marked down” that might as well be full price, there are still some good deals to be had. Thanks for continuing to offer this Rue La La invitation to your readers.

I see that Rue La La has a travel section now. No doubt in response to the Snique Away service. I’ll probably continue using Snique Away for travel, I wish Rue La La would just stick to their core offering.

Awesome, thanks. Rue La La is the best! And while I’m a huge fan of them for deals on fashion products and accessories (especially shoes), I must say that I’ve been using SniqueAway a lot more lately for travel deals. Although sometimes the deal isn’t really that much better than a low-season price? In most cases, there’s a good discount, but not always, so make sure you Google first to see if it’s really worth it! Worst case, you can get some good inspiration/ ideas as to where to travel next (the last trip we went on we went to Costa Rica, inspired by SniqueAway, but the spot we decided on was on Trip Advisor 🙂

Thanks for the Rue La La invite! Cool service, and some amazingly beautiful watches and shoes, but I still can’t afford them! Hopefully prices will come down even more on some of my fave brands…
